Daydreaming The start of the creative process is a directed daydream- letting thoughts of… what if?...how about?...wouldn’t it be lovely?...percolate up through the subconscious into the conscious mind. Next one gets onto the practical parts of creation- what tools, what materials, what exactly does one really want to achieve? Throw in a bit of magic, serendipitous connections, chance, a gift from the Gods – whatever you like to call it and viola! A master piece starts to emerge. These are some of our current daydreams and the artists and teachers we are working with to bring them to fruition. More details to follow soon.... Fiona Wright and Parveen Nayak there are so many wonderful places to explore! In India we have been exploring the textile traditions of West Bengal, Orissa and the east of India. The next locations on our daydreams-to-do list include Bhutan, West Africa's textile and music trifecta Ghana, Burkino Faso and Mali [Ghana is organized for 2011..still want to head further north- hoped for later...] ... and, and, and .... oh yes Madagascar!...and ... email fiona@creative-arts-safaris.com with comments, suggestions or any juicy leads you would like to share with us ~thanks |
